Our Story

A Better Way Home Care is an independent, family-owned home health care company built on compassion, experience, and trust. Our mission is simple but powerful: to provide care and love that help elderly and disabled adults remain safe, comfortable, and healthy in their own homes, while easing the emotional and physical stress placed on families.

As a locally rooted provider of home health care in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, we specialize in personalized, non-medical home care services delivered with dignity, consistency, and respect. Every client we serve receives individualized attention and a care plan designed around their unique needs, routines, and preferences.

A Better Way Home Care serves families throughout Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties. The agency was founded after co-founder Craig and his late wife Bonnie experienced a life-changing kidney donor and transplant surgery in April 2015 https://youtu.be/DW-6n5F5tOE . During recovery, they chose not to use home health care services due to prior negative experiences. That decision inspired them to create a home health care company that would truly put people first and deliver care in a better way.

By November 2015, their vision became reality.

A Commitment to Respect, Inclusion, and Cultural Sensitivity

We believe every individual deserves compassionate care in their home, without exception. Our home health care company is deeply committed to serving clients of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities. We provide specialized training in cultural sensitivity to better understand and support diverse populations, including Holocaust survivors, veterans with PTSD, LGBTQ elders, and others with unique life experiences.

Our goal is always the same: to provide care, love, and peace of mind that allows families to breathe easier knowing their loved one is supported.

Carefully Selected and Clinically Supervised Caregivers

We employ only licensed Home Health Aides and Certified Nursing Assistants who demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism. Each caregiver completes a rigorous screening process led by a Registered Nurse, including:

  • Level II background screening
  • Reference verification
  • Skills and competency testing
  • In-depth interviews
  • Orientation, training, and ongoing coaching

This process ensures every caregiver reflects the values and standards our clients expect from a trusted home health care provider.

Personalized Care Plans and Ongoing Oversight

Care begins with an in-home evaluation conducted by a Registered Nurse. During this visit, the RN meets with the client and family to understand medical history, daily routines, preferences, and goals. A customized Plan of Care is then created and reviewed regularly.

Clients are thoughtfully matched with caregivers who best align with their personality and needs. RN supervisory visits are completed on an ongoing basis to reassess care, address changes, and maintain the highest level of service. Our office team also checks in regularly with clients and families to ensure satisfaction and open communication.

Payment Options and Flexible Scheduling

We accept Private Pay and Long-Term Care Insurance. We also assist qualifying veterans and spouses in accessing free non-medical in-home health care services funded by the VA.

Care schedules are flexible and can range from 4 to 24 hours per day, up to 7 days per week, depending on client needs.

Honoring a Legacy of Compassion

In 2021, A Better Way Home Care lost co-founder Bonnie Glover to COVID at the age of 58. Bonnie’s greatest gift was her ability to connect deeply with others through love and service. Her legacy continues to guide our team and caregivers every day.

We honor her memory by treating each client and colleague with respect, kindness, and genuine care.

Rooted in the West Palm Beach Community

In November 2023, A Better Way Home Care proudly moved into its new home at the Styx Promenade in West Palm Beach. This milestone reflects our long-standing goal of investing in underserved communities, supporting local caregivers, and making a meaningful impact where we live and work.
